JOIN MFRD
Working at the Melrose Fire Department is a unique and dynamic experience. We serve both Putnam County and Alachua County, and provide mutual aid to Bradford County and Clay County. Training opportunities are always ongoing, and we take pride in the service we provide to our community. We’re currently looking for dedicated individuals to join our ever-growing department.
QUALIFICATIONS
FOR PAID CONTRACT APPLICANTS – Qualified applicants will meet the following criteria:
- At least 18 years of age
- Able to pass a physical
- Able to pass a background check
- Free of drugs and tobacco
- EMT and Fire 2 certified
FOR VOLUNTEER APPLICANTS – Qualified applicants will meet the following criteria:
- At least 18 years of age
- Able to pass a physical
- Able to pass a background check
- Free of drugs and tobacco
- No prior training is required
HIRING PROCESS
STEP 1 – Download and complete the following forms:
- Application Packet
- Current W-4 form, downloadable in PDF format via the IRS website: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw4.pdf
STEP 2 – Completed forms should be submitted via email to firechief@melrosefrd.org.
STEP 3 – Wait for the completion of your background check, after which you’ll be contacted by MFRD via phone or email.
